Terms and Conditions
A $50 NON REFUNDABLE booking deposit will be required to secure your booking. Once paid, this payment will then be taken off the final amount owing on your invoice. Full payment is required 3 weeks prior to the event date as stated on your invoice that will be emailed to your chosen email address.
All changes to the cake order are needed in writing to before the final invoiced payment due date. Changes may incur a fee.
If you wish to cancel your order the $50 booking deposit will not be refunded.
If you wish to change the booking date this will only be done if there is availability for the new date.
Deliveries are available for wedding cakes only upon request, a suitable time for delivery and setup will be arranged between myself and the wedding venue.
CAKE COLLECTION : The pick up address will be found on your invoice. A suitable day and time will be arranged for pick up. Your cake will be in a fully enclosed sturdy cake box ready for transport. All cakes are delicate and must be handled with EXTREME care. The best place to transport a cake is in the boot of a large car. It will need constant cool air, preferably in air conditioning. Seats are NOT suitable as they are not level. Passenger's laps are also not always a suitable option as they are very large and heavy. When traveling with your cake extreme caution must be taken when driving up hills, around corners etc.
Your cake can be ready for collection the day before or day of the event. Once your cake is collected you will be asked to sign a form that states you are happy with the cake and that as you leave you will be responsible for the handling of the cake. Katie Young's Cakes will NOT be responsible for any damages to any cake once it has left our possession.
Fondant cakes must not be refrigerated. They should be kept in a cool dry area.
CHANGES: Once your invoice has been issued any changes to the cake design etc may incur a small administration fee as well as any extra charges the change to the design requires. All cakes are baked and decorated from scratch. We are not able decorate any cakes provided by the customer. Some special dietary requirements may be available but all cakes are made and decorated in an environment that may have traces of gluten, dairy, egg and nuts. Please specify if this will be a problem.
All orders must be organised in writing. I do not take orders or provide quotes over text or phone calls. I use email as my filing system so I have all of the details of the order in writing for future reference. Please email your enquiry to
Any complaints must be in writing via email. If you are not satisfied with your cake it must be returned within 24 hours of the event to be inspected and tasted. If it is more than 24 hours since the event or the cake cannot be returned we cannot offer you a full refund or exchange.
