Hello and welcome to Katie Young's Cakes.
When visiting my little cake studio in Karana Downs, you will find a pink obsessed creative gal that spends most of her waking hours making art with cake and icing.

I am the only baker, decorator, dish washer, bench cleaner and invoice sender here. This means there may be a little delay hearing from me after sending through enquiries. I try my best not to keep you waiting too lone. 

The cake decorating world was introduced to me by my mother in law who was a fabulous cake decorator for over 40 years.  I have always loved doing crafts and being creative so cake decorating was such a fun way to make gifts for friends and family and learn new techniques. I am basically self taught and even after 16 years I am still learning.  
 
In 2009 my Katie Young's Cakes journey began. I created a Facebook page to share my craft and in no time I realised this was what I wanted to do as a business. I tested my skills in cake decorating competitions and won various awards for my novelty and celebration cakes. 

2023 was  a big year for Katie Young's Cakes. In won the Haute Couture Wedding cake designer of the year at the International Cake show Australia. 
I also won Brisbane Wedding Cake Designer 2023 and took out Highly Commended in the Australian Wedding Awards.
I was named Best Cake decorator in Ipswich in the Queensland Times Newspaper and was named 2nd in Brisbane in the Courier Mail newspaper. 
Both publications held on line voting for this title and I was absolutely over the moon to win.

All of my cakes are baked and created by myself. I personally hand make all of the decorations in my cake designs. A crazy amount of planning, thought, time and love goes into each cake I make. I am a perfectionist and harsh critic of my work so you will always get the very best cake I can produce.

My business is situated at my home and is run from a separate commercial kitchen that is fully licensed with the Brisbane City Council.  I have been awarded a 5 star Eat Safe rating. 

I specialise in both buttercream and fondant designs and create cakes for Weddings, Birthdays, Baby Showers, Corporate events and more.  I range from more Formal and Elegant cake designs to personalised fun Novelty cakes.

I service Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and surrounding areas.
I deliver  Wedding cakes to be sure they arrive safe to your reception venue. 
Pick up is available for all other cakes from my cake studio.
