Terms and Conditions
A $50 NON REFUNDABLE booking deposit will be required within 7 days of receiving your invoice to secure your booking. Once paid, this payment will be taken off the final amount owing on your invoice. Full payment is required 3 weeks prior to the event date as stated on your invoice that will be emailed to your chosen email address.
All changes to the cake order are needed in writing to . This must be done before the final payment is due which is 3 weeks prior to your event date. Changes may incur a fee. Changes after this date may not be possible and will be up to the discretion of Katie Young's Cakes.
Cancellations with more than 4 weeks notice will be able to receive a refund of monies paid LESS the deposit.
Cancellations less than 4 weeks before the event may be able to receive a credit to use at another time. A credit voucher will be emailed to you to use for another order.
If you need to postpone or change your booking date this will need to be discussed with Katie to check her availability. Not all dates will be available to change to. Contact Katie ASAP with your new date to secure a new booking.
CANCELLATIONS AND POSTPONEMENTS ARE NOT POSSIBLE WITH LESS THAN 7 DAYS NOTICE OF THE EVENT DATE. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. You may either cancel your order without receiving a refund or go ahead with your order and collect you cake at the chosen time.
DELIVERIES are available for wedding cakes for a delivery fee. A suitable time for delivery and setup will be arranged between Katie and the wedding venue. Katie may suggest delivery for other cakes of 3 or more tiers due to them being very delicate and need to be transported with extreme care.
If you require delivery for other cake orders, discus this with Katie.
CAKE COLLECTION : The pick up address will be found on your invoice along with suggested pick up times on the invoice email. Please let Katie know what time she can expect you for collection. Katie will not wait for you to collect the cake outside her opening hours. If you are running late you must contact Katie to let her know to arrange an alternative option. The cake will be in a fully enclosed cake box ready for transport. All cakes are delicate and must be handled with EXTREME care. The best place to transport a cake is in the boot of a large car. Small cars or sedans may not have enough room to fit all cake boxes. Please let Katie know what type of car you have. It will need constant cool air, preferably in air conditioning. Transporting your cake on the seat is NOT advised as they are not level. Passenger's laps are also not always a suitable option for large or tiered cakes. When traveling with your cake, extreme caution must be taken when driving up hills, around corners and on bumpy roads etc.
Your cake can be ready for collection the day before or day of the event. Once your cake is collected you are responsible for the care of your cake. Katie Young's Cakes is no longer liable or responsible for any damage that may occur.
Fondant cakes must NOT be refrigerated. They should be kept in a cool dry area. You will receive a care guide with your cake. Please read through this carefully and follow these directions. Buttercream cakes must be refrigerated at all times until displaying at your event. Traveling will a buttercream cake that has not been refrigerated, will end in disaster.
Mud cakes are best consumed within 4-5 days. Non mud cakes must be consumed within 2 days. Fruit cakes, if stored well with last for at least 3 months.
All cakes are baked and decorated from scratch with fresh ingredients. We are not able decorate any cakes provided by the customer. Some special dietary requirements may be available but all cakes are made and decorated in an environment that may have traces of gluten, dairy, egg and nuts. Please specify if this will be a problem.
All orders must be organised in writing. Orders and quotes will not be provided or taken over text or phone calls. Emails are my filing system so I have all of the details of the order in writing for future reference. Please email your enquiry to or via the contact form on this website.
Any complaints must be in writing via email. If you are not satisfied with your cake it must be returned within 24 hours of the event to be inspected and tasted by Katie. If it is more than 24 hours since the event or more than a few piece have been consumed this will void any refunds. Partial or full refunds will be at the discretion of Katie Young's Cakes and are not automatically guaranteed.
